The article analyzes the profound transformation of the Argentine judicial system following the progressive incorporation of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI). It describes this evolution in three stages: the initial digitalization of electronic case files, the technological acceleration during the pandemic, and the current incorporation of AI and advanced automation. It examines local initiatives such as Prometea, the Federal Justice Hub, and MIA, and discusses the ethical, legal, and regulatory challenges arising from the adoption of algorithmic systems in the justice sector. The paper argues that AI should serve as an auxiliary tool rather than a substitute for the judge, who retains full responsibility for judicial decisions. Finally, it proposes a model of “hybrid, human, and explainable justice”, where technology enhances efficiency without compromising the principles of impartiality, due process, and effective judicial protection.
