Abstract

The interview addresses current sustainability challenges from the perspective of Nicolás Liarte-Vejrup, who analyses the impact of the Copenhagen Declaration and the risks of setbacks in the European regulatory agenda. The author contrasts this scenario with the reality in Latin America, marked by tensions between extractivism, human rights and social demands. He points out the limits of corporate voluntarism and warns against the tendency to postpone climate commitments, emphasising that responsibility should not fall solely on young people. He proposes a pluralistic, ethical and territorial approach that strengthens sustainable governance in both Europe and Latin America.
